π―οΈHunter's Moon Ritual
Light a bonfire or candles and release what you no longer need to hunt. Set clear targets for the coming months.
Origins & Folklore
The Hunter's Moon follows the Harvest Moon and marks the traditional time for hunting game to stockpile meat for winter. With fields cleared after harvest, game was easier to spot under this bright moon. Many tribes called it the Blood Moon or Dying Grass Moon. The Celts celebrated Samhain at October's end, when the veil between worlds grows thinβa time for honoring ancestors and releasing the old. In Norse tradition, this was Winternights, the beginning of winter's reign. The Romans honored Pomona, goddess of fruit trees, during October. The Hunter's Moon teaches focused intention: to survive winter, one must pursue goals with precision now.
