Samhain Ancestral Spread

When the veil thins, ancestors speak. Face shadows. Embrace transformation.

Ancestral Wisdom & Shadow Integration

Samhain (October 31) marks the Celtic New Year, when the veil between worlds grows thin. This is the time to honor ancestors, face shadows, and release what no longer serves. As the old year dies, seeds of the new are planted in darkness. The spirits walk among us, offering wisdom to those who listen.

What is Samhain?

Samhain (pronounced "sow-in") is the Celtic festival marking winter's beginning and the year's end. October 31–November 1, the veil between living and dead thins. Ancestors walk among us. It's the perfect time for divination and reflection.

The 5-Card Spread

This spread honors Samhain's themes: the Veil reveals hidden truths, Ancestors offer wisdom, Shadow shows what needs integration, Death releases the old, and Rebirth shows what emerges.

Ritual: Create an ancestor altar with photos, mementos, and offerings. Light a white candle and speak the names of your beloved dead. Ask for their guidance. Leave food and drink for the spirits. Before midnight, write what you release on paper and burn it safely, watching the old year transform to ash.
