The Star is a Yes in yes or no tarot readings. A figure kneels at the pool under a clear sky, pouring water onto both land and water with nothing held back. Is The Star a Yes or a No?
A figure kneels at the pool under a clear sky, pouring water onto both land and water with nothing held back. The answer is yes, calm and well-founded: after whatever came before, the situation is healing and the way forward is open. It is a quiet yes rather than a loud one. On the card: A beautiful naked woman kneels beside a pool under a starry night sky. She pours water from two vessels - one onto the land, one into the pool. Above her shines one large eight-pointed star surrounded by seven smaller stars.
Why is The Star a Yes?
The verdict comes from the picture. The naked woman stands for spiritual purity, vulnerability, and authentic self-expression: the soul stripped of pretense, open to divine guidance and cosmic connection. The large central star stands for divine guidance, hope, and spiritual illumination: the star of spiritual destiny that guides the soul toward its highest purpose. The seven smaller stars stands for the seven chakras, seven classical planets, or seven spiritual centers: the complete spiritual system activated and aligned with cosmic forces.
The Star in love questions
Yes for healing after a break-up, renewed trust and love that feels restorative. For "will they come back" the card leans yes but asks whether you want the old thing or the healed one.
The Star in work and money questions
Yes for recovery after a failure, creative work, public recognition and long-term goals that you keep faith with. For an instant result the Star is too slow; it works on hope that is acted on.
The Star for "when" questions
After a period of healing. The Star follows the Tower in the deck; expect the good result once the dust has fully settled, often within a few months.
Example questions answered by The Star
"Will I recover from this?" Yes. This is the deck's recovery card; it shows the wound already closing. "Is there hope for us?" Yes, real hope. The card does not deal in wishful thinking. "Will my work get noticed?" Yes, in time. The Star shines for those who keep pouring.
What should you do after drawing The Star?
With a Yes from The Star, act on it. Maintain hope and faith even during difficult times. Trust in divine guidance and allow your authentic spiritual nature to shine through. Your dreams and wishes are blessed by the universe - stay open to receiving guidance about how they can manifest. Remember that you are a divine being with unlimited potential.

The Star Reversed: Yes or No
The Star reversed changes the answer to No. The water is poured onto dry ground: faith lost, a dream deferred, effort going nowhere. The answer is no while hope is doing the work that action should be doing.
Does The Star reversed change the answer?
Upright, The Star is a Yes. Reversed, it becomes a No. Lack of faith, disconnection from guidance, or dreams deferred.
What does The Star reversed energy mean?
The reversed Star indicates lack of faith, feeling disconnected from spiritual guidance, or experiencing delays in manifesting your dreams. You may be feeling hopeless, uninspired, or disconnected from your higher purpose. This card can represent broken dreams, shattered illusions, or feeling abandoned by the universe.
