Origins & Folklore
The Pink Moon is named for wild ground phlox, one of the first widespread flowers of spring in North America. Despite its name, the moon itself doesn't appear pink. Native American tribes called it the Sprouting Grass Moon or Egg Moon, honoring the return of fertility. In Hindu tradition, this moon celebrates Hanuman Jayanti, the birth of the monkey god. Ancient Romans dedicated April to Venus, goddess of love and beauty, making this moon sacred for romance. The Greeks associated this period with Aphrodite rising from sea foam. Across cultures, the Pink Moon represents the irresistible force of beauty breaking through winter's barren landscape.

Guided Meditation
Picture yourself in a garden at twilight, pink phlox blooming all around you. The full moon rises, casting a rosy glow over everything. Feel your heart opening like a flower, petal by petal. With each breath, imagine love and beauty flowing in and out of your heart center. What wants to bloom in you? Let the answer arise as naturally as a flower turns toward light.
“I bloom with beauty, love, and abundance.”
