Conjunction
0° · Fusion
Two planets occupy the same degree and fuse their energies into a single inseparable force. The most powerful major aspect — the planets no longer act independently but as one unit. Concentration of energy is extraordinary, but the person may be too close to the dynamic to see it objectively.
Opposition
180° · Awareness
Two planets sit exactly across the chart, pulling in opposing directions. This creates awareness through contrast — each side can only know itself by confronting its opposite. Often externalised through partnerships and public life that mirror an inner split until integration is achieved.
Trine
120° · Flow
Two planets share the same element and reinforce each other effortlessly. A natural talent that operates beneath conscious effort. The gift is real, but its very ease can cause it to be taken for granted and remain underdeveloped throughout life.
Square
90° · Growth
Two planets in incompatible elements grind against each other, generating structural friction. This is the engine of growth in the chart — uncomfortable, demanding resolution, and responsible for much of a life’s real development. Most high-achievers have significant square activity.
Sextile
60° · Opportunity
Two planets in compatible elements offer a cooperative opportunity. Less automatic than a trine — the ease must be activated through conscious choice. A sextile is a doorway where two capacities combine if the person notices and walks through it.

Three or more planets in the same sign or house
A cluster of planets in one area of the chart creates an overwhelming dominance of that sign or house. The person’s life often orbits around the themes represented there. Powerful but sometimes lopsided — other parts of the psyche can feel underdeveloped by comparison.

All planets concentrated within a 120° arc
The rarest of the seven shapes. Every planetary energy funnels into a narrow zone of the chart, producing an unusually focused life. Specialists and single-purpose personalities often show bundle charts. Focus is extraordinary but unused areas of the chart can feel genuinely empty.

Locomotive
Planets occupy roughly 240° with an empty third of the chart
The "leading planet" — the first planet encountered moving clockwise from the empty space — becomes the engine that drives the rest.
